Simon Farr

Biographical notes:

Simon studied Fine Art at Harrow and Portsmouth then lived and worked in London first as a railway guard, then as an arts administrator (Chats Palace in Hackney, the Albany Empire in Deptford), finishing up as a performers manager for Test Dept (avant guard pop), Cookie Crew (hip hop), IDJ (jazz dancers) before working as an Illustrator for the last 20 plus years. He has lived in the UK by the Suffolk seaside since 1999.

Clients

Simon works primarily in pen, ink and watercolour inks as well as painting with traditional oil on canvas. He has been selected a number of times for the Association of Illustrators Images directory and touring exhibition including two images for 2011. He was chairman of the AOI in the early 1990's. In recent years has been a stand in political cartoonist for Steve Bell, Marin Rosen, Gerald Scarfe, Peter Schrank, Dave Brown and Nickolas Garland. He has never missed a deadline!
